  1. We hear a lot about ‘leading theologians’, whatever that may mean but what about ‘following theologians’ that is those who follow the teaching of Pope Francis, as supreme pastor and Vicar of Christ on earth without continually undermining him and sniping from the sidelines at what he has to teach.

    1. I must admit I feel very disturbed about the amount of criticism our Pope is getting. I have only been a Catholic since 2012 and I hear so many people say they do not trust this Pope. I find myself not knowing what to think sometimes. I saw Pope Francis in Rome last year and felt he was kind and humble. I am sure I don’t remember this amount of criticism about Pope Benedict XVI.

      1. There are some quite scandalous criticisms of Pope Francis on other blogs calling in question his teaching authority by ignorant people holding themselves out as loyal ‘traditional’ Catholics and making presumptuous statements on what they personally think Catholic doctrine and pastoral practice should be; as well as directly insulting the Pope by deliberately calling him only by his family name ‘ Bergolio’ .
As Alexander Pope, the English poet, well observed:
‘A little learning is a dangerous thing’
